I have recently found myself wanting to draw bugs, insects and other creepy crawlies (but obviously make them cute) so I decided to turn my new found love of things that crawl around into an educational poster for children.
I did quite a lot of research into what I thought were the thirteen most interesting insects, bugs and snails found in South Africa. I wanted to illustrate them as realistically as possible but also retaining their "cuteness".
Above you can see my sketching process on Procreate using my favourite 6B pencil. After which I added some texture and shadows in Photoshop.
